Ib Koford-Larsen (Denmark 1921-2003)

OPE Sweden 1960s. Leather and solid teak wood.

A classic ‘Seal’ chair in leather and teak by Koford-Larsen who was one of the top midcentury Scandinavian architects during the era. This one is in absolute top condition. The original design is from the 1950s. This chair is a 1960s production that was reupholstered in Sweden around the 1990s.

It is very comfortable as intended and of course stylish enough to sympathetically fit in to any quality interior setting.

Pirkka lounge chairs

Ilmari Tapiovaara (Finland 1914-1999)

Pine and lacquered birch wood. Stamped with makers markings.

One has an original De Bijenkorf Amsterdam price tag /label taped to the underside.

Rare pair of ‘Pirkka’ low lounge chairs. Designed in 1955 and unlike other models model was never put back into production. These two are in superb condition – all original. Rare chairs and real collectors pieces.

Alvar Aalto (Finland 1898-1976)

Four early production model 60 stools.

Birch wood / 1930s for Finmar UK.

Rare set of classic Scandinavian modernist stools. These three-legged stacking stools have a superb colour and patina. One stool has its Finmar label (writing has worn off) and on one stool it can be seen that there was once a label (the other two do not have labels).

Two long benches and table by renowned Swedish design Gilbert Marklund. The table is the rarer larger version of the design that can seat up to four people.

The desirable aspect of this set is that it is in unrestored condition with all its original patina. (The table has a few ring and burn marks to the top).
