Ilmari Tapiovaara (Finland 1914-99)
Solid lacquered pine and beech wood.
A mid-century Scandinavian design set by Illmari Tapiovaara for Laukaan Puu, Finland. This classic ‘Pirkka’ set is composed of a large table, a bench and three chairs.
Designed in 1955 this set is an early production from around the late 1950s-early 1960s. Each piece carries the makers burnished marks alongside the designer’s name.

A robust coffee table in the manner of Roland Wilhelmsson or Sven Larsson. We believe that this minimalist table was most likely manufactured in Sweden, circa 1960s-70s. Original condition with signs of use and age.
