Theo de Wit (Nl. early c.20th)

Modernist cantilever chair by Dutch designer Theo de Wit for EMS Overschie. The design would have only been manufactured for a short period in the mid 1930s. It is n all original condition with just one small veneer repair to the front edge of the plywood seat.

Gunnar Daan (Dutch 1939-2016)

Midcentury plywood prototype chair by Dutch architect Gunnar Daan (1939-2016)
This child’s high chair is believed to be a prototype for the later high chair produced by Metz & Co in 1966. The design was conceived by Daan for his own children and was to be manufactured from a single sheet of plywood with as little wastage as possible.

1960s-70s Space Age Plywood Coffee Table with Textured Glass

_A 1960s-70s low table. The table could be said to have a nautical theme running through it with its shaped ship like form and refracted light between the glass and table. It has visual similarities to Isokon furniture and to that of the Irish designer Max Clendinning from the 1960s.

Jan van Grunsven (Dutch c20th)

This Scissor sofa was designed by architect Jan van Grunsven in 1959 and was produced by UMS/Pastoe in Utrecht. It has laminated layers of plywood and the original grey-brown wool upholstery and Dunlop foam. Van Grunsven worked as an architect in Gerrit Rietveld’s studio during the 1950s -1960s.
