Pair of 1970s Crate chairs manufactured by Gerard A. van de Groenekan. (Both with burnished marks to the underside). These particular chairs were commissioned by the original owner.

They are in superb condition; both having their original lightly whitened waxed surfaces.

This table designed in 1950 was made for a private residence in the Netherlands. The concept and plans for the table can be found in the archive of Den Boon’s work in the NAi archives in Rotterdam.

Console table. 1960s

Wim den Boon. (nl.1912-68)

A console table commissioned for the adaptation of a private residence in Rotterdam during the early 1960s. It has a thick gauge steel base with a 4cm solid teak sectioned top.
Den Boon was part of ‘group &’ alongside Hein Stolle and Pierre Kleykamp, a group of Dutch interior /furniture designers influenced by the reductivist designs of Gerrit Rietveld. Some provenance available including original drawing designs.

Rare early Bas Van Pelt design double-sided desk

Bas van Pelt began his shop ‘My Home’ in The Hague, Netherlands in 1931 and within a short period the company opened showrooms in other cities such as Maastricht and Amsterdam. The domestic interior design firm focused on producing high-quality modern interior furniture. Eventually right up until into the 1990s Bas van Pelt furniture and fabrics were also sold throughout The Netherlands and beyond by well-known modernist suppliers and manufacturers such as Thonet, D3, LOV and Gispen.

This early Bas van Pelt design desk was manufactured in solid oak wood. It has the Maker/designer’s name brandished in the wood.

BROOCH WITH SMOKY QUARTZ GEMSTONE. 1970-1974. Brooch made of silver plate with finely engraved net decoration, set with cabochon-shaped smoky quartz gemstone. Artist’s original by most famous Slovak jeweler Anton Cepka. Ag 900/1000. Total weight 140 g, length 11,6 cm, height 4,7 cm.
