Rare set of classic Scandinavian modernist stools. These three-legged stacking stools have a superb colour and patina. One stool has its Finmar label (writing has worn off) and on one stool it can be seen that there was once a label (the other two do not have labels).

From 2025 we are delighted to announce that we will be selling a number of limited edition prints by this contemporary artist living in Denmark. The first of these are entitled ‘The Cabinet of Written Pictures‘. Each is a collection of short poem /scenarios.
The texts of the Cabinets are conceived by Simon Lewis and edited by the Danish author Solvej Balle.

Large Dogon scale. Circa 1930s-40s.

A superb example of an African Dogon tribal ladder/scale. This example is believed to have been made in Mali from the early to mid-twentieth century.
Traditionally the African Dogon ladder was used by the Dogon people to access the upper levels of granaries, climb onto the flat roofs of houses, and bridge clefts in cliffs.
Its repeated forms give it the aesthetic quality of a modernist sculpture.

Two long benches and table by renowned Swedish design Gilbert Marklund. The table is the rarer larger version of the design that can seat up to four people.
The desirable aspect of this set is that it is in unrestored condition with all its original patina. (The table has a few ring and burn marks to the top).

Mahogany and coromandel woods. A large beautifully made bookcase with two adjustable shelves on each side. Minor signs of age and use. This bookcase came out of a private house with several pieces made by the same company.
